This kit is a "revision" of one of Dragon's earliest kits (DRA6004), turning it into a Hummel Early Model (DRA6150), using the hull parts from the renewed Hornisse/Nashorn kit (DRA6165/6166), with the inner combat compartment modified for the 15cm howitzer. The biggest difference with these two Early Models is in the exhaust: DRA6150 has a large exhaust muffler in the rear in the transverse position, while DRA6204 has exhaust pipes on both sides without any muffler. Gun parts are mostly from the old tooling, but the barrel length has been corrected and some minor molds have been added. New detailed gun sights have been provided, too. Tracks are provided as individually-molded injection plastic parts. Moldings are excellent. One gun crew figure in summer uniform and horse-mounted soldiers from DRA6046 (Florian Geyer) are included. Photo-etched parts for engine air intakes are also included, as optional parts. Excellent assembly instructions are printed in full-color and use photos of the actual model to show how things go together. Highly recommended.
