The Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) was originally a Czech LTvz38 tank pressed into battle on the German side, after Czechoslovakia's "amalgamation" into the Reich. Its basic design was sound and it performed well in battle, and it filled out the critical shortage of tanks among the German Panzer divisions. It appeared in many variations and its chassis was used as the basis for a variety of different vehicles throughout the war.
