This is the first tank developed by the new Mechanized German Army, paving the way for the Blitzkrieg (Lightning War) later. Contrary to the original plan, the Panzer I was not only used for training, but also participated in the Poland and North Africa campaigns. This is the late production model of the Panzer I Ausf.A. The kit was designed by Yoshikatsu Tomioka, the famous AFV kit designer also known for his excellent work on the workable tracks from Modelkasten. The master models of the included crewmembers were sculpted by famed diorama builder and figure sculptor Yoshitaka Hirano. This kit is molded in gray plastic and is highly detailed. The tiny but workable track links are manufactured by Modelkasten. Photo-etched brass parts for the exhaust cover by Aber are included. Decals are by the world-famous Cartograf. A perfect combination!
This "Special Package" version includes extra parts and instructions to build either an early or late version of the Panzer IA.
