The last Japanese battleship to be built overseas, the British-built Kongo was also the first battleship to carry 14-inch guns. Later rebuilt in Japan, the Kongo saw action at Midway and the Battle of Leyte Gulf, eventually being sunk by the US submarine Sea Lion in November 1944. This earned the Kongo the distinction of being the only Japanese battleship sunk by a submarine, and the last battleship ever sunk by a submarine. Fujimi joins the fray of 1/350 IJN subjects with this excellent kit of the IJN battleship Kongo! Big and beautifully detailed, the Kongo is a full-hull model with stand, representing the ship as it appeared in October 1944. Massive and stunning!
