This is an injection-plastic airliner model kit.
The DC-8 is a large passenger airliner that represents the first generation of jet aircraft, along with the 707 and CV880, and was also the world's first airliner to fly at supersonic speed. Developed in 1952 as a successor to the DC-7, orders officially began in 1955, and orders were received not only from American airlines, but also from airlines in various countries, including Japan, and the jet was used on long-distance routes around the world. The 50 series is an aircraft equipped with Pratt & Whitney's JT-3D turbofan engine, which improves quietness, fuel efficiency, and cruising range. From this type, the cargo type and cargo-passenger type DC-8F were added to the lineup. With the entry into service of the 50 series, which quickly recovered from the inferior performance of the Boeing 707, Douglas succeeded in receiving a large number of orders.
This injection plastic model kit from X-Scale Models reproduces the 53 type with newly molded parts such as the main wing, engine pylon, and JT-3D engine nacelle. A painting mask seal and decals for one version are also included. Order yours today!
