This is an injection-plastic model kit of a scene or item related to the culture of Japan.
Yum--what could be more delightful than a dumpling with a chewy octopus surprise in the middle?! Not much, apparently, because takoyaki, or octopus dumplings, are still found all over the place, although unfortunately nowadays not so often from traditional traveling stalls as this kit depicts...those were the days...! This kit is molded mostly in light brown, and includes colored powder (brown), a weeping willow, and printed materials for creating the windows and other details.
This kit is part of Kawai Shokai's Fuubutsushi series ("Fuubutsushi" refers to things that remind you of certain seasons) of Japanese buildings, stores, and locations that allow you to recreate Japanese landscapes--it's just like being here! (If you're about 2 inches tall, anyway.) From Edo period sights to relatively modern ones, the wide variety of entries allows you to design the layout of your choice (after taking varying scales into account).
