This is a resin-cast military vehicle model kit.

The Type 60 Self-Propelled 106mm Recoilless Rifle has been in the JGSDF's inventory for well over 40 years, and still shows no signs of heading for retirement! Hopelessly obsolete with its two 106mm recoilless rifles mounted outside on the roof, this little guy (very little, actually...I know; I've been in one!) nevertheless continues to soldier on into the 21st Century. Bless its heart!

Obsolete as the Type 60 may be on the field of modern warfare, it's still a very cool and unique vehicle, and this excellent multimedia kit from Brave Model is a very welcome surprise. The main hull is comprised of very sharply cast resin pieces, with the running gear (suspension, road wheels, sprockets, and idlers) and other details beautifully rendered in white metal. The twin 106mm recoilless rifle barrels are done as nicely turned aluminum pieces (no rifling, unfortunately), and a fret of photo-etched metal parts is included for some of the finer details. The tracks are supplied as injection-molded plastic individual links, and are exceptionally sharp and well-detailed. Two small sprue connection points on one edge of each track link means quick clean-up and easy assembly. A bit of brass rod for the antenna and a length of nylon twine for the tow cable round out the parts, with a small sheet of waterslide decals provided for the minimal JGSDF markings. Not only is this a great kit of a unique vehicle, it's the only kit in 1/35 currently available. Quantities are very limited, so grab yours now!
