This is an injection-plastic model kit of a scene or item related to the culture of Japan.
This kit is the first in Kawai Shokai's Fuubutsushi Series ("fuubutsushi" refers to things that remind you of certain seasons), and how fitting! Soba noodle shops are ubiquitous in Japan. Even in the smallish town of Tatebayashi, where HobbyLink was located for nearly a decade, you could probably eat soba every night for a month, and not eat at the same restaurant twice! The kit is molded mostly in light brown, and includes colored powder (brown and green), a weeping willow, and printed materials for creating the signs and other details.
The Fuubutsushi series of kits of Japanese buildings, stores, and locations allows you to recreate Japanese landscapes--it's just like being here! (If you're about 2 inches tall, anyway.) From Edo period sights to relatively modern ones, the wide variety of entries allows you to design the layout of your choice (after taking varying scales into account).
