This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
The Hiei was the second of four Kongo-class battle cruisers and was commissioned in 1914 and is known for escorting the carriers that attacked Pearl Harbor in December 1941. In 1937 she underwent a full-scale reconstruction that included upgrades to her powerplant and the addition of launch catapults for floatplanes. She was also reclassified after the upgrade as a fast battleship.
The Hiei participated in many initiatives in 1942, and in November, engaged American cruisers and destroyers alongside the Kirishima. However, ultimately, she was buffeted with air attacks and sank on the evening of November 14th.
This kit builds the Hiei in her final configuration from 1942 in 1/700 scale with a waterline hull, and includes special photo-etched parts for this release.
