All-Japan Mokei Hobby Show

The 51st edition of the All-Japan Mokei ("Model") Hobby Show was held October 13-16 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, and focused on hobby products being released this fall and winter.

Here's a look at some of the new items that debuted there, grouped by manufacturer. Check out the item lists and our detailed reports!

Tamiya's all-new-tool 1/350 IJN Yamato was the talk of the show! Their M51 Super Sherman, a follow-up to their 1/35 M1 Super Sherman, was another star. Bike fans will enjoy the Yamaha FZR750R, and Formula One fans can look forward to a fully finished model of the 1987 Lotus 99T.

Hasegawa launches a new ship kit with the 1/350 Hikawa-Maru, adds to its Ma.K. lineup with the Grosser Hund, announces the Space Wolf from Captain Harlock, and rolls out a new 1/72 F/A/18 Growler!

Fujimi keeps F1 fans thrilled with a Ferrari F10! Bike fans will appreciate the YFZ750 Lucky Strike racer, and aviation fans will love the new 1/72 F-15E Strike Eagle. Ship fans will be very happy to see an all-new kit of the IJN carrier Hiryu, in 1/350 and 1/700 scale!

Aoshima adds to its spacecraft series with a kit of the moon probe Kaguya (Selene)! Other releases include a new version of the IJN cruiser Takao in 1/350, the Honda NSR250R in 1/12, and a Nissan Skyline in 1/24.

Fine Molds announces a 1/144 Slave I, in both Jango and Boba Fett versions! Pit-Road's upcoming Type 98 Tractor Shi-Ke in 1/35 is an interesting release for military modelers. Kotobukiya shows off a new Ingram/Griffon set, Wave showcases a new MOSPEADA kit, and Platz debuts their new X-47B model.

Bandai presents a 1/144 Real Grade Freedom Gundam from Gundam Seed! Also coming are MG kits from Wing Gundam, more Gundam Age releases, and a massive kit of the Tokyo Sky Tree in 1/700 scale!
