This is a model kit of a building or other structure.
Hashima Island is an island about 15 kilometers off the shore of Nagasaki, and was a coal mining facility from 1887 to 1974. Its nickname "Gunkanjima" means "Battleship Island" in Japanese, due to its striking resemblance in profile to the Japanese battleship Tosa. The island has been featured in numerous movies (such as "Battle Royal II") and video games, and it's also been nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Aoshima's polystone replica of Gunkanjima in 1/1400 scale is fully assembled and beautifully painted to represent the island as it appeared in 1974. This is the first model of any kind of Gunkanjima!
