This is a tool for use in model assembly.
The ultrasonic cutter ZO-41 released in 2014 has two sharpnesses, normal mode and high mode, and also has an automatic adjustment function (TAF circuit), making it the best sold in the ZO series. This new version has not changed the sharpnesses, but an operation method has been added -- meet the ZO-41 II!
Features
TAF circuit that reduces melting as much as possible -- The ultrasonic cutter has sharpness (to the vibrator, etc.) according to the load applied to the blade during cutting (hardness, thickness, melting condition, etc., of the object, how to apply the user's force, the angle at which the blade hits, etc.) and how the input changes. When the load is large: Sharpness (input to oscillator) is large. When the load is small: Sharpness (input to oscillator) is small.
An ultrasonic cutter is a tool that cuts while vibrating. When cutting, frictional heat is always generated by the vibration of the object to be cut, and the blade as well. The ZO-41 has adopted the best drive method (TAF circuit) that can be considered at this stage, reflecting the user's desire to reduce melting due to this frictional heat, but it is also adopted for the ZO-41 II.
Do I have to keep pressing the button? Do you want it to work only when you press it? The conventional model (USW-334/ZO-40) reflects the user's voice that it is difficult to work when the button is pressed, and so the ZO-41 introduced an operation method that operates for 10 minutes after pressing and releasing the switch on the handpiece. (Press the switch again to stop.) Since it works even if you release your finger, there are some people who want to operate it only when you press the button like the conventional model (USW-334, ZO-40), so in the ZO-41 II, it's possible to select either method of operation.
Turn on the power without doing anything: operate for 10 minutes after pressing and releasing the switch
Turn on the power while pressing the handpiece switch: operate only when the handpiece switch is pressed (however, it turns off every 3 minutes to check the temperature).
Equipped with a temperature sensor that protects the vibrator -- Like the ZO-41, it is equipped with a high power mode. In the high power mode, when the load is heavy, the power is input to near the allowable input limit of the ultrasonic transducer. Assuming that the heat of friction with the cut object and the heat that vibrates by itself will cause thermal destruction of the ultrasonic vibrator, a protection sensor is installed so that the temperature inside the handpiece stops when it rises to a certain level.
With the new operation method of the ZO-41 II, the temperature cannot be monitored if the handpiece switch is held down, so the maximum time for holding the switch is 3 minutes.
Variable power -- It is possible to switch between the normal mode and the high power mode with the switch on the side of the main unit. High power model overheats in about 5 minutes, depending on the cut. Overheating takes about 13 minutes for the LED on the handpiece to flash and the switch to be pressed again.
There is no change in sharpness from the conventional ZO-41.

[Accessories]:
* The included power cord complies with Japanese (AC100V) laws and safety standards. For export to overseas, please consider the CR model Hobby Ultrasonic Cutter ZO-91.
** This specification is a reprint of the Echotech Communication Vol. 15 catalog notation.
The operation method is different from the conventional model, and there is a mode that operates for 10 minutes when the handpiece switch is pressed and released, and a mode that operates only when the handpiece switch is pressed.
